Downtown evolves to become more sustainable, affordable, diverse, livable and economically vital. The town center remains the island�s center of commerce, community and culture; serves islander�s daily needs and welcomes visitors. Choices in lifestyle, transportation and housing are many. Downtown is a vibrant, pedestrian friendly "place" which encourages visitors to "park once" and linger on Winslow Way, or in various artistic, green, gathering spaces. The town and the harbor are connected and the community's character and history are preserved.

Online consultations provide citizens an opportunity to learn about proposed projects and policies, offer suggestions and provide feedback via questionnaires, participation in online discussion forums with peers, and by commenting on documents and planning proposals during all phases of projects and policy development.
The vision will be realized through partnerships with the community, developers and the business community. The city will continue to plan and implement priority capital improvement projects, policy amendments, and new programs. City activities are documented in the annual work plan & budget.
